  • 37th Annual FirstHealth Pinehurst Turkey Trot

    • Runners get the chance to trek through the streets and residential neighborhoods of the village of Pinehurst for the half marathon, 10K, 5K and one-mile race.
    • In previous years, more than 1,200 runners have crossed the finish line in all races combined including more than 340 runners in the half marathon alone.
    • Runners can expect much of the course to offer ample shade, as the route will make its way largely through residential areas as well as around stretches of Pinehurst Lake, and past several fairways within the neighborhoods that make up the golf resort. The course is certified by USATF-RRTC (USA Track and Field, Road Running Technical Council).

    • Join our “Wildlings” program series (geared for 6 to 10-year-olds) this weekend as we take a short hike to learn about the different owls that call the Sandhills home.

  • Model Train Show

    • The Sandhills Central Model Railroad Club presents its Annual Train Show in the historic Aberdeen Train Depot and Museum.
    • The club’s HO model railroad features a beautifully constructed re-creation of the town of Aberdeen and surrounding areas.
    • Santa will be there to greet the children, so bring your camera and take pictures.
    • Admission is $5 for adults and children under 4 feet 8 ½ inches are free.

  • My First Book Club

    • Beginning readers (ages 5 to 7) are invited to join “My First Book Club” at Moore County Library.
