October 16th from 11-4 is the 2011 Horse Barn tour in the Southern Pines/Pinehurst Area to Benefit Prancing Horse.
The tour will begin at the NCSU Equine Health Center located at 6045 US 1 North in Southern Pines. Maps of the participating barns will be available for pick up at this site, and tickets can be pre-purchased for $20 at the following locations:
The Country Bookshop, Given Book Shop, Sandhills Winery, The Village Wine Shop, Lady Bedford’s Tea Parlour, Moore Equine Supply & Feed, Bakehouse & Cafe.
Tickets on the day of the tour are available for $25 at the Equine Center. Lunch will be provided by the Southern Pines restaurant The Sly Fox and will be available for purchase at Merillee Farm. Sweet treats will also be available from the PineScones, Cold Stone Creamery and Sweet Feed.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the The Prancing Horse Center for Therapeutic Riding. The center offers riding for children and adults who deal with challenges in their lives including physical, mental and emotional. The farms that offer the therapeutic riding through Prancing Horse are McLendon Hills Equestrian Center in West End and Muddy Creek Farm in Whispering Pines.
