Selling a home in Pinehurst

I am an independent broker.  What does that have to do with selling your house? I have many conversations with my fellow brokers about whether being independent helps or hurts the seller’s possibility of getting their home sold.

After reading many blogs about seller tips, I don’t believe going with a large firm has ever come up (at least not in print that I have seen).  Three things seem to be in most of the advise to sellers:

  1. Price your home correctly, location of course is primary to pricing.
  2. Have the home prepared or staged. Nice curb appeal, clean and uncluttered inside.
  3. Good marketing, and in todays market, internet, internet, internet.
Now I will admit that I probably miss out on listings because I’m not with a large firm. And I know those within a large firm tell sellers that the whole team of agents within the firm will come and see their home.  And that sounds like getting that exposure can help, but how many of those agents are actually going to bring a buyer.
