Even though we saw a significant dip in Pinehurst Area Home Sales in July – early indications show that August will see a bit of a rebound.
As the chart shows not only did we see quite a dip from June 2012 for Pinehurst home sales, we also saw a dip from July 2011. However, early indications show that we will see an increase in August from July of this year as well as an increase in Pinehurst homes sales from August 2011. It will be few more days before we get the final numbers, so I expect that the final numbers will increase from what has already been posted to the Pinehurst area MLS (multiple listing service).
Home prices are still decreasing though 5 out of the 7 months of this year through July we saw an increase in the number of homes sold over the same period in 2011. There are some great home buying opportunities in the Pinehurst area with home prices lower than the past 6 or 7 years and mortgage interest rates are very low increasing the benefits to buying now. In most cases, monthly payments for a home purchase will be lower than rentals in the Pinehurst area for similar homes in both size and age.
The August market report for the Pinehurst area real estate sales should be out in a few days.
